Hi everyone, I know I have been a little lax lately in my postings and I apologize. It’s been a rough week and a half. It all started with scotch having to have surgery and part of his intestine removed, then Friday we rushed Bella into the emergency hospital only to find out she was very sick, Daisy also… With that said we had to say goodbye to the three of them the last one was Sunday when I put Bella down. The other six kittens are doing well. They start antibiotics today just to be on the precautionary side of things. I’m not going to go into details, just please understand this was a tragic loss for us. We are devastated as I know the future parents of Daisy and Scotch were also, Bella was going to stay here. They were all so very beautiful and will always be in my heart, with that being said from here on out some things are going to change as I go along with reserves, etc…. This is all a learning process and sometimes the lesson hits hard! We do have a litter coming up and I have a couple of reserves on it. I will share pictures intermediately, but I will not be taking full reserves on any other kittens until they are at least eight weeks old. That is my thinking from here on out anyway OK I’ve rambled enough. Take care of everyone.
Please like and share Mainetasticoons we would greatly appreciate it... Thank you

The latest update on scotch... Yesterday when we saw him he was full of himself, rolling around making biscuits and purring like crazy. They fed him some canned food very little and he gobbled it up overnight. His fever went back up and they gave him some more medicine to bring it down today. He has been very quiet. He ate a little this morning but not much. They did an ultrasound and x-ray. Everything still looks good. There's no fluid so we're hoping it is just his poor body is tired and is resting.... Please continue to pray. Thank you!
Update***** The doctor just called. They said that he is doing really well. She said he is purring and interacting with them and the vet techs. They're not going to introduce any type of food until tomorrow afternoon. Right now though, he looks a lot better she said but until we're past that 72-hour mark(at least) anything can happen. He sure is a fighter thats obvious :-). He will probably be staying there until Wednesday or Thursday Dr. Anna just called. It definitely was a fold. There was no blockage. It folded inside itself, the intestine did that is. They had to remove 3 to 4 in of small intestine , which is, out of everything that could have happened, was a blessing that it wasn't 8 or 9 in. that they had to remove. He is staying the night for sure tonight and then play it by ear from there. But he's definitely not out of the woods, surgery went well... Now healing starts and in that is a bunch more, different complications that can arise.... Continued prayers appreciated!!!
Scotch update today 9/17/24...... The vet's just called and they said that he is very lively this morning which is a great sign. But his fever is still 103.4 which is concerning. They need it to go down, still too soon to give him food, but they're going to try in a couple of hours and give him the tiniest amount and see how he does. Keep those prayers coming, they are what he needs for sure! We have been back and forth to the ER vet this weekend with one of our kittens, he had/has a blockage with the possibility of intussusception, which is a folding of the intestines where the blockage is. He is now with our vet having an emergency surgery. The things that go on behind the scenes that a lot of you don't see or hear about. I'm only saying this because he could use some prayers so if you wouldn't mind sending out some prayers. Positive vibes. Thoughts for our little scotch would greatly appreciate it. We will keep you updated...

WHY REPUTABLE BREEDER'S CHARGE MORE FOR THEIR KITTENS Our prices are $3000+ As a responsible breeder, I understand that the price of a healthy, well-bred kitten may seem steep to some. However, it's essential to consider the significant investments I make in the health, well-being, and quality of my kittens. The price of a kitten from a reputable breeder reflects the value we place on our cats, our time, and our expertise. It's a price that is justified by the quality of the kitten, the care and attention it receives, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing you've made a responsible, informed decision. So, what do you get for your money when you purchase a kitten from a reputable breeder? * A healthy, well-socialized kitten that has received the best possible care from birth * A kitten that has been raised in a safe, nurturing environment, free from disease and parasites * A kitten that has been vaccinated, microchipped * A kitten that has been temperament-tested and matched with a suitable family * Ongoing support and guidance from an experienced breeder * A kitten that is registered with a recognized breed association, such as TICA * A kitten that comes with a health guarantee and a contract that protects both the buyer and the breeder When you consider the costs involved in breeding exceptional quality kittens, it's clear that the price of a kitten from a reputable breeder is a worthwhile investment. It's an investment in the health, happiness, and well-being of your new furry friend, and in the knowledge that you're supporting a breeder who is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the breed.
